The Centre for Ideology and Discourse Analysis (cIDA) is located in the Department of Government, University of Essex. The focus of the centre’s research agenda is the systematic study of contemporary ideologies and discourses, and their relation to institutions, movements and policies.
DESIRE, the Center for the Study of Democracy, Signification and Resistance performs critical research on the role of discourse in society, politics, communication and media. It brings together an interdisciplinary group of researchers from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Univerza v Ljubljani, Charles University in Prague, University of Essex, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as affiliate members from other institutions, to support their joint research activities.
The Populism Research Group (PRG) at Loughborough University was established in 2018 and aspires to build a dynamic School-wide intellectual community for Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) and members of staff working on different aspects of the populist phenomenon.
